Weekly Wishlist Wednesdays 1/5/11

5 Jan

Hello! It’s that time of the week again. While you’re reading this, I’ll be working my butt off to help pay for an estimated $1000 worth of repairs of my car. Yikes.

Anyway, this weekend was successful. I completed almost everything on my to do list. I just have some finishing touches on my inspiration board and my car needs to be actually fixed. I was charged an arm and a leg to get it diagnosed. After that, I added a new criteria to my dream guy: mechanic, specializing in tricky Volvos.

Anyway, here’s what I want this week:

www1/5

1. Studded heels! While the actual designer version of these heels are on TSA’s ” do not fly” list, I think these shoes are run-way ready (too cheesy?). Embellished anything is right up my alley.

2. Cuban back seam pantyhose. I hate the word pantyhose. But I really don’t know what to call these beauties. I love Cuban back seam hosiery (better?) and plan to actually get the back seam and the Cuban heel tattooed on my legs/heel/bottom of my foot. I need to get a few pairs of these and wear them. Often.

3. Loop scarf. AKA circle scarf. I love this trend and think it’s an easy and cute way to spice up any outfit.

I’d also really like a pedicure and a subscription to Inked magazine. I found that while I was cutting out pieces of inspiration, most of them came from Inked magazine. I definitely fell in love as I turned page after page of hot tattooed boys and sexy pin-up girls. The best part? It came with a free Sailor Jerry calendar! I had heard about the Sailor Jerry calendar girl search, but I was not expecting the finished product to be  this amazing. They took traditional tattoos of pin-up girls and recreated them using live models. I became more and more impressed with each month.

Hopefully everyone is having a great week so far!

I Just Bought my First Lottery Ticket!

3 Jan

Yup, I’ve been able to buy lottery tickets for almost two years, and I just bought my first.

(Please excuse the horrible quality. My camera is being rude and I don’t have time to fix it.)

Of course I had to buy Scratchers, too!

lottery2WISH ME LUCK!

My mom and I spent a while talking about what we would do if we won the current jackpot, which is around $300 million. Here’s what I came up with:

1. Quit my job. Obviously I wouldn’t need to work a mall job if I was getting monthly payments that are more than I make annually.

2. Buy a new iPhone. Mine broke after dropping it in a sink full of dirty dishwater at work when the power went out. I’d buy an iPhone 4 for sure.

3. Buy out Chain Reaction. My life goal is to run my own venue, so why not buy one that’s already got a reputation and a great location? I’d get rid of all the promotion and booking “companies” that put on shows, so I can have complete control over who plays. That means no Bring Me The Horizon!

4. Buy a house/car/Disneyland annual pass. These are all necessary. I’d get one of each for my mom and brother too.

5. Take a cruise! I’d probably go to Greece, Italy, and France if possible. Of course my mom would be invited and my Aunt Cindy could come too, since she took me on my first cruise.

6. Get every tattoo I ever wanted. I have so many tattoos planned out, and I’d finally have the funds and security to get them.

7. Buy every book that is considered classic literature. And read them all. I’d have a killer library.

8. Go shopping! I hear Louboutin heels and Agent Provocateur lingerie calling my name.

I know that realistically I will never win the lottery, but it’s nice to dream! What would you do if you won $300 million?

Weekend To Do List

1 Jan

I’ve recently acquired “weekends” from my work schedule! I know the traditional weekend is Saturday and Sunday off, but since I work in the mall these are our busiest days, so I hardly ever get time off on a traditional weekend. I do, however, have two days off this week–Monday and Tuesday! This is going to be odd for me, since I haven’t had a true day off since school started. When school is in session, I attend class two days a week, which are my days off from work, and work all other five days. I had two days off to go to Disneyland, and last week I had two days off but had the flu so I wouldn’t have worked regardless. Anyway, I’m incredibly excited for my days off and I need to plan how I’m going to spend them!

1. CLEAN MY ROOM!

Messy Room

I’ve been planning on cleaning my room, but things just keep coming up (like the flu, or sushi dinner offers with my mom and her boyfriend). As you can see it’s a DISASTER. I’ve never let my room get this messy before! I have lots of things to unpack and put away from moving back in (which was like 4 months ago or something), from various trips, and from acquiring new items. This is at the top of my list.

2. Get my Car into the Shop

The last time I got my oil changed, the mechanics told me I had no oil in my car, and the time before that I was told I had an oil leak. Regardless, my oil looked fine when I checked it with the dipstick this morning and was full, but my check engine light is on, so I need to take it in. Also, my pesky Volvo is stuck in “Winter Mode,” which basically means I have to floor it to get it to exceed 25 mph. Any of you who have taken a ride with me in Beatrice know just how annoying, loud, and dangerous driving like that can be.  I’m going to try and get that fixed too.

3. Inspiration Board

While at Barnes and Noble today, I picked up a few magazines to create a new inspiration board. This will contain lots of pink, sequins, and tattoos! I’ll post pictures when I finish. In other news, I was very mad to find that tattoo magazines can only be found in the “Men’s Interests” section at Barnes and Noble. Sexism and stereotypes, anyone?
